Ask your MP to stand up for humanists in Nigeria, Pakistan, and Bangladesh

Ask your MP to stand up for humanists and attend the All-Party Parliamentary Humanist Group meeting Harassed. Attacked. Arrested. Experiences of humanists around the world on 24 May.

In the words of the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, ‘In my observations, humanists, when they are attacked, are attacked far more viciously and brutally than in other cases.’

This meeting will hear from and about the victims and survivors of non-religious persecution, with speakers from Nigeria, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, who have been subjected to brutal punishment on account of their non-religious beliefs, as well as international experts in the field of human rights and the Minister for Human Rights, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon.

It is vital that we maximise the number of MPs and peers attending this meeting so that they are aware of the plight facing the non-religious and can take action to stamp out persecution.

We’ve made it easy for you to invite your MP to attend. On this page, you’ll find a default model letter that we highly recommend you personalise as MPs are more likely to take notice of personalised emails and queries.
